THE WINE JOURNAL · BY LA’PREA RE’NAE RESERVE
A little wine. A little wonder. A space to discover what you love—and remember every beautiful sip.
THE WOMAN BEHIND THE RESERVE

My name is La’Prea Re'Nae Beasley. I’m a wife, a mom of five girls, a nurse, and a woman who’s still discovering what she loves about wine.
Between family, work, and everything life brings, I wanted a little space for something that was mine—a chance to slow down, try something new, and enjoy learning along the way.
That’s the heart of La'Prea Re'Nae Reserve. I’m not here to pretend I know every grape or have the perfect tasting words. I’m here to share the discoveries, the favorites, and the bottles that make us say, “Okay, I need to remember this one.”
The Wine Journal was created for that kind of experience: remembering what you poured, what you liked, and the moment that went with it. A little learning, a little laughter, and a wine story that feels like your own.
Pull up a chair. We’re learning together.
A FEW BASICS TO GET YOU STARTED
Slow down, notice a little more, and let your preferences lead the way.
01 / LOOK
Hold your glass against a light background. Is the color pale, medium, or deep? Try words like lemon, gold, ruby, or garnet.
02 / SMELL
Give the glass a gentle swirl and smell. Think of familiar fruit, flowers, spices, or earthy aromas. There’s no need to name everything.
03 / TASTE
Take a small sip. Notice sweetness, freshness, texture, and how long the flavor stays. Most of all, ask yourself: do I enjoy this?
Start with the wine’s name, producer, vintage if listed, and where you tried it. Add a few words for its aromas and flavors, what you paired it with, and whether you’d enjoy it again. Personal memories count, too.
Body describes how light or full a wine feels in your mouth. Think of the difference in weight between skim milk and whole milk as a familiar comparison. A fuller body doesn’t automatically mean a better wine.
Tell your server what you’ve enjoyed before and how much you’d like to spend. Try: “I like a crisp white that isn’t sweet. What would you suggest with my meal?” Specific preferences are more helpful than knowing fancy terms.
